A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive email addresses under the very same domain name. For example, an email sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get email messages from buddies or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you have a web hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you create under the domain. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a few functions, but it’s surprisingly simple to use, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires just one single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have created will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you will simply have to click on the "Catch-all" button for the particular address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires one more click on the same button.
